About

I'd rather be the person in the room who tells you the truth.

Husaini Salamat. Known as Hus. That Common Guy Realtor.

I became a real estate agent because friends of mine invested in a condo without any good advisors, and ended up in debt. That was the moment. I decided I'd rather be the person in the room who tells you the truth than the person who tells you what you want to hear.

Since then, I've spent my working life helping Singaporeans make informed decisions about their homes: first-time buyers figuring out whether they can actually afford it, HDB owners at MOP wondering whether to stay, and pre-retirees deciding whether to right-size and unlock the equity they've been sitting on for thirty years.

Property is one of the most powerful tools for long-term wealth in Singapore. But it also punishes decisions made in a hurry. Every stage of life, from your first BTO to your last home, is a moment where the right advice compounds. That's the work.

The principles

How I actually work.

A question Singaporeans ask

"What makes you different from other agents?"

Principle 01

I don't try to hard sell everyone.

I don't tell clients "you should sell, you should upgrade, you should buy this." It's not transactional for me. Every person's situation is different. My job is to help you understand what makes sense for you first, before you make a move.

A question Singaporeans ask

"Can Singaporeans really trust real estate agents?"

Principle 02

The right question isn't whether you can trust an agent. It's whether that agent can help you identify what's a good move for you.

Agents are CEA-regulated. The more useful question is fit, not trust in the abstract. Ask: does this person understand my situation, my timeline, and my numbers?

A question Singaporeans ask

"Why do people even need a property agent nowadays?"

Principle 03

What we provide isn't just transactional.

Listings are public now. But an agent brings daily-market data and an honest read on whether a move actually suits your lifestyle and finances. That's the part you can't google.

A question Singaporeans ask

"What would you tell someone who thinks upgrading is impossible?"

Principle 04

Don't decide it's impossible before getting to know your numbers first.

Sometimes knowing your options is more valuable than making a move right away. I meet a lot of people who are closer to their goal than they realise. And some who aren't ready yet, but that's also useful to know.
